At Least Once

The sea’s only gifts are harsh blows,

and occasionally the gift to feel strong.

Now, I don’t know much about the sea,

but I do know thats the way it is here.

And I also know in life,

not how important it is to be strong,

but to feel strong.

To measure yourself at least once.

To find your self at least once in the most ancient of human conditions,

measuring the blind, deaf stone, alone.

With nothing to help you but your hands and your own head.

These guys are collectively one of my best friends and all around good guys. I couldn’t be happier with how great they’re doing. I remember when they were playing to 10 kids.

Domesticated to Unveil Innovative Shopping Approach to Buying American Made Products

Domesticated to Unveil Innovative Shopping Approach to U.S. Consumers

Young Entrepreneurs Start Online Site Connecting Consumers in Search of American Made Goods with the Companies That Produce Them

BROOKLYN, NY, December 18, 2011:  On January 1, 2012 Domesticated, the newest outlet for consumers in search of products made in the U.S., launches their online site.

Founders, Matt Steedman (23) and Christopher Carter (24) created a web application that allows consumers and business owners to search, add, review, and purchase products produced in the United States. Domesticated organizes high quality goods and the companies that make them, providing the ability to search the using unique filters like proximity, price, product ratings, and company ratings.

Domesticated provides consumers with a, fun, easy-to-navigate database of US based businesses and their and an curated array of their respective products. Domesticated also makes it easy to share the products with your Facebook friends or Twitter followers. Users will be able to search the companies that make the products (useful for both consumers and retailers looking for wholesale) and go directly to the manufacturers site to purchase the products. In the future, there will be an e-commerce feature deployed seamlessly to bring the experience full circle, allowing users to purchase products directly from the supplier using Domesticated.

Domesticated provides businesses with a powerful tool to reach prospective consumers. Most consumers on the site will be heavily interested in learning more about the companies and the products that offer them. Getting them to know the craft that often goes into these products that is lost on the larger outsourced manufacturers.

“At the moment there is  large, untapped marketing potential for domestically manufactured goods, similar to the ‘green’ movement years ago and more recently with ‘organic’ foods explosion.” -  Co-founder, Matt Steedman  states. “There are many Americans that would like to support the American economy by buying domestically, but they are overwhelmed by the amount of foreign made products that have flooded retail in the last few decades. These consumers ultimately give up, frustrated in their inability to find anything made in the United States.” -  adds Co-Founder, Christopher Carter
